For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. -Romans 1:16
So Day One and I’m excited.
My prayer is always “God, bring someone to me who needs to hear your Word”
Always answered, because who have you met that doesn’t need to hear the Word of God?
I ended up speaking to a lady as she was getting into her home. I had just finished plating tennis and was walking home. As I walked, I saw a lady entering a driveway.
This was it. My last (and late) opportunity.
I called out to her and walked slowly. The conversation was short, but it went something like this:
ME: Hi, just want to let you know that Jesus loves you….
WOMAN: Oh no no no. No thank you. I know you mean well but I don’t want to hear it”
ME: Oh okay, well I didn’t want to disturb you, just wanted to tell you that. God bless you and have a good evening.
I knew there was a LOT to improve on my encounter (such as trying not to witness to those entering their homes, unless it’s your immediate next door neighbour.
But surprisingly, although I had the proverbial door shut in my face, I felt so empowered. The rush of excitement that comes with speaking about Christ is indescribable. Rejection has never made me smile before. Here’s to 30 more days and 30 better ways of evangelising!
