Day 28: The Evangelism Challenge (The Muslim Girl)

But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.” — Jeremiah 1:7-8

Hi Readers,

It’s been a minute since my last post! So lemme get to it…

Today Evangelism took place at work. I shared my faith with a Muslim colleague at work. To be honest, I was not phased in the slightest. I feel as if God has given me a spirit of boldness at work, which kinda explains the aforementioned bible verse.

I started my new job in March, I’m one of the youngest workers in the building, and yet, by His grace, I’m confidently promoting Christ to as many as would give me audience.

The Muslim girl I spoke to is pretty chilled. She spoke, she listened, we laughed, we disagreed, and we understood each other’s points on view.

Although she declares herself a Muslim, she evidently is not following her faith completely…

She doesn’t wear her headscarf…
She swears like a sailor….
She gossips and slanders….
She is argumentative….

It may read as a harsh observation, but she personifies a religious actor; she puts on her religion when it suits her. For this reason, I told her the message of Christ, because the gospel is anti-religion but pro-relationship, pro-realness…

And lest we forget ourselves, she mirrors many Christians in the world today – pun intended ….

The Christian who swears and then brushes it under the carpet…
The Christian who drinks to get tipsy and thinks nothing of it….
The Christian who has yet to forgive….
The Christian who is caught up in lust…
The Christian who is insubordinate….
The Christian who is greedy….

Sorry if it sounds like a long list, but I could actually go on lol!
Let’s stop being actors. Let’s be REAL
We need to take off religion and put on Christ, for reeeeeeaaaaal…..

Until the next post….
