Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share a scripture today…
2 Peter 1 reading from verse 3:
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
My prayer is that we will grow as individuals and as a team. Let us not be stagnant, but let us bear good ripe fruit IJN.
I thank God for the faith we share, which should birth a passion for souls that knits us together – but where do we grow from there?
Now, let us look at ourselves and check where we are….
We all must add to our foundation of faith.
Yes you have faith, but where is your virtue? Yes you are virtuous, now where is your knowledge? Okay, we see your knowledge, now can you demonstrate temperance? So you have temperance, but do you practice patience? God bless you for your patience, now what of your godliness? Okay we are encouraged by your godliness, can you exercise brotherly kindness? Yes you are kind, but are you able to walk in love?
I pray that we will see real changes in characters, attitudes and behaviours within our team, our church and the entire Body of Christ. I know which stage I am working on, and I pray that I will develop fully in each area before growing in the next stage. I pray that we will each grow in each of these eight areas throughout 2015. Let people see our growth and glorify God, because surely that will be a great testimony.
God bless y’all and make Jesus proud.
