10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
– Isaiah 55:10-11
I love birthdays, and none more so than my own!
As I turn 25 today and this year, I have thought a lot about my legacy:
What have I achieved?
What am I doing currenrly?
What do I want to accomplish in the next 25 years?
Of course these are very tough questions for one to answer. It’s so easy to write yourself off and think that because you have not reached the heights of your dreams, or ticked off boxes 1-4 on your long term goal list, you must be a failure.
But that is not how God sees things. God knows where He is taking me and He knows where He is taking each and everyone one of us.
The secret and the real task for me is to trust Him more with the next 25 years than I did with the last 25.
So rather than focus on ME, I can enquire of God:
What did God accomplish through me?
What is God currently doing in my life?
What is God leading me to do in the next 25 years?
Today is a day to hold unto God’s word like never before.
Has He spoken it? Will He not do it?
Today I am grateful that I serve a God Who is reliable. God is faithful towards us but more importantly He is faithful towards His word. Each and every promise written in His word will stand fulfilled.
Be encouraged!
