27 Lessons X Psalms 27: Lord

Lord (Mark 12:30)

So I start ’27 Lessons’* with the most important word – Lord.

(*Just to explain, each person who attended my birthday dinner was given a different word based on one of my favourite chapters in the bible Psalms 27, but I basically read around each Word to find another bible verse relevant for each person)

“Lord”

For me, this was all about mastery. The actual verse I referred to was Mark 12 verse 30:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

You know, one of the things I pray about about, for myself, my siblings and my closest people is mastery – not allowing things, people, or ideologies to master us.

The Word as I read it was acknowledging, that yes, we need God, but we need more than God – we need to allow God to encompass every part of our lives.

So that really is my prayer for you today dear readers – that as you go on this journey of life, you will not allow yourself to be enslaved to things that seek to master our generation, but rather that the Lord would be your Master, with complete access to every corner of your life, your heart, your soul, your mind and with all your strength.
