Enquire – Psalm 27:4
So I continue ’27 Lessons’* with another important word – Enquire
(*Just to explain, I turned 27 this year on 22nd August 2018. I held a birthday dinner during which each attendee was given a different word based on one of my favourite chapters in the bible – Psalms 27)
Enquire
Ok, so the next word was “Enquire” and it actually comes from the foundation scripture, Psalm 27:4:
“One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.”
It’s probably one of the few places in the bible where you see enquire in this way.
Often we read about people enquiring of other people, but the Psalmist reminds us to enquire of God.
Coming from a legal background, I have found that one thing that a solid legal education gives its students is the ability to be critical, analyse information and appreciate evidence.
We’re not called as Christians to be blind sheep, rather, we can trust and hold God to His word.
Every time we come into God’s temple, we have an opportunity to make enquiries of God. But thank God that we don’t have to wait for Sunday, but rather we can come into His presence each and every day!
My prayer is that you will continue to enjoy God’s beauty, His Spirit and His Strength, 24/7. Week in and Week out – You know you can rely on Him!
