27 Lessons X Psalms 27: Rock

Rock – Isaiah 51:1

So I continue ’27 Lessons’* with another important word – Rock

(*Just to explain, I turned 27 this year on 22nd August 2018. I held a birthday dinner during which each attendee was given a different word based on one of my favourite chapters in the bible – Psalms 27)

Ok, so the word for today is Rock, and it’s one of those words that you could find all over the bible, but I went to Isaiah 51:

“Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.”

I love that – that the Prophet is advising us to look at the Rock from which we came from. It’s such an an encouraging word, knowing the Christ is The WORD, the Rock, Redeemer, Refuge (and so many other R words).

Sometimes, all we have is the Rock.

Life hits us, circumstances have us battered and we are seeking solace. We’re down and low. If we’re not careful, we fall into ditches, but if we are careful, we find Him.

So my prayer really is that you continue to find Christ – In everything.

When you need to be comforted, find Him.

When you need to be convicted, find Him.

When you need to be convinced, find Him.

He’s your Rock, reliable, steadfast and dependable – trust that.
