Praises – Psalm 47:7
So I continue ’27 Lessons’* with another important word – Praises
(*Just to explain, I turned 27 this year on 22nd August 2018. I held a birthday dinner during which each attendee was given a different word based on one of my favourite chapters in the bible – Psalms 27)
Praises
Ok, so your word was Praises, and it came from Psalm 47:
“For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.”
Psalms 47:7
When God says He wants something from us, He never needs it.
The verse reminds us that God is sovereign – He owns it all and He is deserving of it all. We know that there is nothing we have that He did not first give to us, but if the Word says he desires an action from us, what is stopping us from doing that?
So my prayer is what the Psalmist said – that we would begin to give God praise with understanding, a knowing of why we worship, why we say thank you, and why, despite circumstance, we hold on to hope.
Stay faithful and keep praising.
