OUR DAILY BREAD: Part 1

So I’ve been studying the Our Father in detail, and I’d like to share it with you all…..

OUR DAILY BREAD

In Matthew 6, Christ gives us the template for prayer. He begins by reminding us that we need not make loud and excessive prayers, neither are we required to make a show of our giving. Rather, what He does tell us is how to come to God.

In Matthew 6:9 Jesus simply states:

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.”

As we end this month, let’s begin to simplify our prayer life. Let us connect to God as He is, OUR FATHER.

Let us rejoice as we recognise the privilege of being in relationship with Him. And above all else, let us reverence Him. “Hallowed” is his name, meaning it is holy, honoured and respected.

Dear Father, today I commit myself to rediscovering You as my Father. I ask that you help me to love you as my Father and respect you as my Lord IJN Amen.
