Beauty – Psalm 45:11
So I continue ’27 Lessons’* with another important word – Beauty
(*Just to explain, I turned 27 this year on 22nd August 2018. I held a birthday dinner during which each attendee was given a different word based on one of my favourite chapters in the bible – Psalms 27)
Beauty
Ok, so today’s word is “Beauty” and I looked at Psalm 45:11:
“So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him.”
Perhaps it’s the simplicity of the verse – God desires our beauty.
God wants us FOR US.
He doesn’t expect us to be anything other than who we are. We don’t have to be imitations, replicas or copies of anyone.
We are enough for Him.
It made me wonder about all the things that the world says makes us beautiful, and how many of those things – if not all – fade to nothing in God’s eyes…
Again, the Psalmist said it best in the 51st chapter, He wants a broken and contrite Spirit. Just being vulnerable is so beautiful. And that’s my prayer for you. I pray that He will help us to worship Him in that true beauty IJN.
